Deborah Torres Patel is Asia’s
Leading Voice & Presentation Coach and expert trainer on Singapore
Channel 5’s "Villa Wellness" reality programme and guest star on "Spirit
of Service". She began singing, dancing and acting professionally at age
4 and shared the stage with celebrities like Michael Jackson, Whitney
Houston, Herbie Hancock, Kool & the Gang, the legendary Platters, and
the late Sammy Davis Jr. & Milton Berle.
She has worked with Broadway Theater and film directors such as Martin
Charnin "Annie", Pat Birch "Grease", Mercedes Ellington "Sophisticated
Ladies" and Rob Marshall "Chicago" & "Memoirs of a Geisha".
Deborah’s animated film voice-overs have been awarded at Sundance, New
York, San Francisco, San Antonio, and Berlin Film Festivals.
Educated at Carnegie Mellon University and Boston Conservatory of Music
in the USA she holds degrees in Drama, Dance and Voice. She taught at
UCLA (Los Angeles), Los Angeles Unified School District, National
University of Singapore (NUS) and (NTU) Nanyang Technological
University, Singapore.
For 21 years Deborah has worked in over 60 countries teaching personal
and professional clients to speak, sing, and communicate with more
confidence and full self-expression using a unique 5-part training
series she created called Expressing You! ®
Expressing You! ® gets to the core of communication working from
the inside out and is built on the fundamentals of breathing, posture,
releasing physical tension, and maintaining vocal fitness, physical
health and emotional wellness.

Using different modalities from ancient wisdom to
modern techniques, it is a holistic approach to total and authentic
expression empowering everyone to step up to their next stage in life,
whatever that may be.
As a mother she is passionate about parenting and collaborates with East
Asiatic Corporation - Dumex designing and delivering educational
multimedia content and programs for pregnant women, mothers, and
children ages 0-7 years old.
Deborah’s popular articles and interviews have been featured in more
than 15,000 online and offline publications. She has recently authored
an audio/video training program called Presentation Power and her first
book on the topic of Self Expression will be published in 2007.
Deborah is a founding member, past Director of Education for Asia
Professional Speakers Association - Singapore. She is a long standing
member of Actor’s Equity Association and Screen Actor’s Guild in the USA
as well as the National Association of Teacher’s of Singing.
Her distinguished client list includes Walt E. Disney Co., Time Warner,
